Rory WhiteDakota Wizards Head Coach White joins the Wizards having spent the last six years as an assistant coach with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers. Prior to joining the Clippers, White served two separate stints as the head coach of the Idaho Stampede, the last ending in 2003. White has also served as the head coach of the Fargo-Moorhead Beez in the now defunct IBA, where he won two championships during the 1995-96 and 1997-98 seasons. A native of Tuskegee, Alabama, White played collegiately at the University of South Alabama where he was named the Sun Belt Player of the Year in 1979 and earned All-Conference honors his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. In 1983, he was honored when South Alabama retired his jersey. White was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the 17th pick of the 4th round in the 1984 NBA Draft. He played for five season in the NBA before embarking on a successful overseas and minor league career. White and his wife, Julie, have two sons, Rory Jr. and Josh, and one daughter, Jenna. |

Kevin RiceDakota Wizards Assistant Coach Former Wizards player Kevin Rice returns as assistant coach of the Dakota Wizards. Rice assisted former head coach Dave Joerger to the 2006-07 NBA Development League championship in his first coaching opportunity. He then returned to the hardwood as a player with the CBA’s Minot Skyrockets in 2008-09 before returning to the Wizards’ bench this season. Rice began his professional basketball career with the Wizards in 2001, winning an IBA Championship. The following year, Dakota moved to the Continental Basketball Association where he led the team to another title in addition to being named Defensive Player of the Year. Rice earned a degree from Utah State in 1998 with a concentration in Sociology. Rice, 34, is single and resides in North Dakota year round. He has a son, Taevyn Rice, who is 11 years old. |

Jamal JamesDakota Wizards Athletic Trainer Jamal James comes to the Dakota Wizards with five years of professional experience as a head certified athletic trainer. He spent his first three seasons with the Arena 2 Football League’s South Georgia Wildcats. This is his second season in the NBA Development League, his first coming with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds. During his career he has been named the 2006 Outstanding Trainer of the Year and the May 2007 Employee of the Month, both in the Arena 2 Football League. A native of Chicago, James attended Park University in Kansas City, MO, where he was a member of the men’s basketball team. He was an American Midwest All-American Scholar Athlete from 1996-99 and graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine. James lives in Kansas City during the offseason. |
